October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease and the importance of early detection of breast cancer. In honor of this special month, the LAFP would like to remind women about the importance of early detection.
While most women are aware that screening is an important part of their health care routine, heightened coverage during the month of October serves as a reminder for patients to make an appointment and access these important services. Other than skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States. Talk to your patients about the importance of breast cancer screening today!
