On Thursday, September 26, 2024, the LAFP hosted the Baton Rouge/Lafayette Grand Rounds and Member District Social at Blend in downtown Baton Rouge. Our members enjoyed visiting with friends over cocktails before the dinner presentation. Attendees received an important update on medical coding hosted by Lori Bourque, MS, CPC. Dr. Blaine Boutte, PGY-3, with the Lafayette Family Medicine Residency Program hosted the CME program, “Navigating the Storm”.
LAFP members, Rosa DeSha Folgar, MD, FAAFP, and Rachel Kermis, MD, FAAFP, achieved the distinction of Degree of Fellow. Dr. Vincent Shaw led the convocation ceremony to formally present their certificates and confer them as Fellows of the AAFP. We were also excited to recognize the following members for achieving a year of membership anniversary:
- Robyn Germany, MD – 30 Years
- Cecil Lovell, MD – 40 years
