The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students (National Conference) provides one of the largest forums for medical students and family medicine residents to display research initiatives and special projects.

Fifty posters have been selected for display during the conference. Of those, the top 12 research poster authors have been invited to give a brief oral presentation for peer review. A list of the authors and poster titles is available. Posters will be displayed onsite during National Conference, Aug. 1-3 in Kansas City, Mo.

Poster topics include:

  • Clinical inquiry
  • Community project
  • Educational program
  • Research.
Congratulations to Christine Edomwande, MS, LSU Health New Orleans! Her poster submission, “An Examination of Food Behavior and the Barriers Preventing Food Insecure Louisiana Residents from Participating in Food Assistance Programs”, was chosen as one of the 50 research posters for display during the AAFP National Conference in Kansas City.
 
Ms. Edomwande is a very active student member. She has served as student delegate to the LAFP Board of Directors and the AAFP National Conference as well as the FMIG President at LSU Health New Orleans.
