THE LAFP CONGRATULATES DR. TAMMY DAVIS ON HER RETIREMENT!
The LSU Health Family Medicine Residency Program bid farewell to Dr. Tammy Davis. Dr. Davis served as the Associate Program Director for the program for over 30 years. She trained a countless number of residents and medical students instilling the care and compassion of Family Medicine.
NEW FACULTY ANNOUNCED AT LSU HEALTH SHREVEPORT
Following in Dr. Davis’s footsteps, Dr. Naina Bouchereau-Lal has been named Associate Program Director for the Shreveport FMRP. Dr. Lal is originally from the Seychelles Islands and grew up in Canada. She moved to the United States during her medical training and now proudly calls it home. Dr. Lal earned her medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas, where she earned her medical degree. She completed her Family Medicine Residency and Sports Medicine Fellowship at LSU Health Shreveport, then subsequently joined the institution as faculty. Her professional interests include preventive medicine, chronic disease management, obesity medicine, musculoskeletal medicine, and performing procedures that enhance patients' quality of life. As a former dancer and gymnast, herself, she has a particular passion for female athlete health and performing arts medicine.
Dr. Bouchereau-Lal is motivated and committed to upholding and building upon the legacy of Dr. Tammy Davis and Dr. Luke Baudouin to inspire and shape future residents in her new role as Associate Program Director.
Dr. David Janese has been named the Emergency Medicine/Family Medicine Residency Program Associate Program Director at LSU Health Shreveport. Dr. Janese is a graduate from the program. He grew up in Hallettsville and Houston, Texas in a medical family. Prior to attending medical school at Saba University, he was a paramedic. He believes that his personal experience as a paramedic played a large factor in his decision to become a physician. After graduation from medical school, he started his residency at LSUHS in Shreveport and resumed teaching at the collegiate level at the local community college. In addition, he serves as clinical manager and supervisor for a 911 EMS agency in Texas and the Medical Director at Shreveport Fire Department. He is very involved with the Family Medicine residency and the Emergency Medicine Residency.Dr. Janese looks forward to continuing the learning legacy that Dr. Tammy Davis and Dr. Luke Baudoin provided to him.
