The next Family Medicine Cares International (FMCI) delegation trip to the Dominican Republic is scheduled for Saturday-Saturday, February 15-22, 2025. The weeklong volunteer opportunity includes three components: medical education, patient care, and a children’s activity.
The FMCI is seeking family physicians with expertise in family medicine and community health as well as non-medical volunteers with a passion for improving the lives of those in need.
Applications for the delegation trip must be received by Monday, September 30.
The AAFP Foundation provides one scholarship for a family medicine resident or early career physician to be part of the FMCI Delegation.
The scholarship covers the following:
- Travel to the Dominican Republic, including housing and food.
- Resident scholar/early career physician will give a presentation on the experience at the AAFP National Conference or other appropriate setting, and expenses will be covered as part of the travel scholarship.
- Maximum amount of travel scholarship is $5,000.
