As 2024 comes to a close, the LAFP Foundation (Foundation) reflects on the successes of the past year and the immense gratitude we have for the donors, preceptors, and supporters who have profoundly impacted its mission. Together, we are cultivating student career choice in family medicine and shaping the future of healthcare in Louisiana.
Whether through monetary donations, in-kind gifts, or time spent mentoring medical students, your contributions are invaluable. We are deeply thankful for your investment in the future of family medicine.
As we look ahead, our continued success depends on your generosity. During this season of giving, we invite you to support the Foundation’s mission with a year-end contribution. Your gift helps sustain programs that have benefited thousands of Louisiana medical students and residents through stipends, scholarships, and meaningful programming focused on family medicine.
In 2024 alone, the Foundation made a significant impact through:
- Hosting 3 regional procedural workshops in Monroe, New Orleans and Shreveport. Over 150 medical students were introduced to procedures that family physicians perform daily in their practices as well as meeting faculty and residents from our residency programs.
- 2 medical students served as delegates to the National Congress of Student Members
- 2 residents served as delegate to the National Congress of Family Medicine Residents
Every contribution, no matter the size, has a direct and lasting impact. Will you join us in providing transformative experiences for more medical students? Your support helps illuminate the path to a fulfilling career in family medicine. Donations made to the LAFP Foundation are tax deductible and make it possible to preserve the legacy of family medicine in Louisiana. Please consider making a donation to the LAFP as a part of your charitable giving this season. The LAFP Foundation accepts online donations through our secure web portal, or you can mail a check to 919 Tara Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70806.
Thank you for your support and partnership. Wishing you a joyous holiday season and a prosperous new year!
