MyERAS applications to family medicine residency programs open on Sept. 4, and your fourth-year student members and others participating in the National Resident Matching Program likely have questions. Fortunately, an expert panel of family physicians who have been through the process are ready to answer their questions about applications, interviews, ranking and more during a free, live webinar.
Register and join “Applying to Family Medicine Residencies” at 6 p.m. CT Aug. 27 to hear from a family medicine residency program director, medical school faculty advisors and others who will provide guidance and share insights from national surveys of residency programs and medical students. The panel will answer key questions to help participants determine their best approach to matching in family medicine.
AAFP Senior Vice President for Education, Inclusiveness & Physician Well-Being Margot L. Savoy, M.D., M.P.H., FAAFP, will moderate the discussion.
“I’m proud of the prominent role the AAFP and our state chapters play empowering our student members to achieve their dream of matching in a family medicine residency program,” Savoy said. “Our annual webinar kicks off the application and interview season, giving students access to insights from ‘people in the know.’ We hope sharing an overview of the process, answering questions we hear frequently and positioning students to easily connect to key resources will lower their anxiety about the match process, allowing them to focus on putting their best application forward.”
