Each year the AAFP hosts the National Conference for Medical Students and Residents in Kansas City. This year was no exception. The LAFP Foundation in partnership with Ochsner Health and our Louisiana Family Medicine Residency Programs hosted recruitment efforts to promote our residency programs at the national level.

Thanks to our EXCLUSIVE sponsor, Ochsner Health, the LAFP Foundation was able to send our full delegation of student and resident delegates to attend the Student and Resident Congress Meetings held in conjunction with the AAFP National Conference.

This year’s theme, “Come Join Our Krewe”, boasted a Mardi Gras theme of purple, green and gold promoting the true spirit of Louisiana. We offered a “one stop shop” for interested students to learn more about each of our family medicine residency programs, talk with residents and program faculty. Over 50 students, residents, faculty and program staff from Louisiana were in attendance this year.

It's all about connections and the AAFP National Conference is the beginning to promote Family Medicine in Louisiana.
