The American Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors has named Donnie Batie, MD, FAAFP as chair of the AAFP Commission on Quality and Practice. Dr. Batie’s appointment was announced at the close of the AAFP Congress of Delegates in Chicago on October 20th.
In addition to having served on the AAFP Commission on Quality and Practice for the past three years, Dr. Batie has a long record of service. Dr. Batie has been a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians since 1983. He has served the LAFP as the LAFP President, LAFP Secretary, LAFP Foundation President and the Louisiana Delegate to the AAFP Congress of Delegates. He has also served as the Chair of the LAFP Education Committee and remains a member as of today. Dr. Batie has served at the national level as a member & chair of the Healthcare Services Commission, member and chair of the Special Constituencies Committee and as a member of the Minority Affairs Committee.
Dr. Batie attended medical school at the University of Florida College of Medicine and completed his residency at Louisiana State University (Bogalusa) Rural Family Medicine Residency.
