Learning Objectives:

  1. Analyze a case study of newly diagnosed cirrhosis in a middle-aged female with a history of moderate alcohol use.
  2. Explore etiologies and complications of cirrhosis.
  3. Review outpatient management strategies for cirrhosis in primary care.
  4. Highlight the role of primary care in multidisciplinary care for cirrhotic patients.

Speaker:

LAL 3Dr. LeaAnn A. Love is a shining example of dedication and excellence in the field of Family Medicine. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana and raised in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Love’s educational journey began at Xavier University of Louisiana, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with minors in Biology and Mathematics, all while receiving a full tuition scholarship as a first-generation college student. Her passion for medicine led her to the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, where she graduated in the Class of 2023. She is currently a PGY-2 resident at the Baton Rouge General Family Medicine Residency Program, where she is making significant strides in serving a diverse, underserved population in Baton Rouge.

CME Accreditation:

The AAFP has reviewed 2025 Monthly Webinar/Grand Rounds Series and deemed it acceptable for AAFP credit. Term of approval is from 01/20/2025 to 12/23/2025.
