Every year the LAFP holds a statewide research poster competition that promotes the scholarly activity our resident and student members. The poster contest also provides the authors the opportunity to publish and share their timely research. This year we boated 23 entries! Each poster submission with a short bio and profile picture were displayed on www.lafp.org.
Funding from the LAFP Foundation supports the efforts to profile the importance of research and scholarly activities of our resident and student members. Congratulations again to the winners of the 2024 Research Poster Competition!

Dr. Claudius Jean Baptiste is a second-year resident at Louisiana State University (LSU) Family Medicine Residency in Lafayette. Dr Jean Baptiste earned a B.S in Biology at Florida Atlantic University then went back to the Caribbean where he is originally from to attend Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM). -

Dr. Kristy Chin is a second-year resident at Louisiana State University (LSU) Family Medicine Residency in Lafayette. Dr. Chin earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of New Orleans and then received her osteopathic medical degree in 2022 at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Auburn, AL. -

Dr. Nora Fuller is a second-year resident at the Rural Family Medicine Residency Program Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa. She graduated from LSUHSC School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2023. She received her BA in biology and international public health in 2006. -

Dr. Artesia Simon is currently a first-year Family Medicine Resident in the LSU Family Medicine Residency Program in Lafayette, Louisiana. She earned her medical degree from New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine after obtaining a bachelor's degree in biology from Louisiana State University- Shreveport.
