Applications are now being accepted for the Women’s Wellness Through Equity and Leadership Project, a collaboration of 10 of the nation’s leading medical organizations to help early- to mid-career physicians become leaders.
The AAFP will select three scholars for the program. Applications are open through Oct. 8 at https://insights.aafp.org/s3/e881abec106f.
The WEL Project is intended to develop a new wave of women physician leaders by enhancing individual physician skills and improving organizational structures, with the long-term objective of creating a healthier, more equitable work experience.
WEL scholars selected by the AAFP will commit to an 18-month curriculum, starting with an in-person kickoff meeting at the American Academy of Pediatrics headquarters in Itasca, Ill., next February. Other events include:
- three additional two-day meetings, which may be held virtually or in-person;
- monthly webinars beginning in March 2024; and
- a variety of mentoring, networking and evaluation activities.
