Congrats Elections 2023 web thumbnailThe Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians is proud to announce the 2023-2024 elected student and resident delegates! Each year the Resident Student Leadership Committee begins as election process to select our resident and student delegate positions. This year, we build on experienced delegates and welcome new students and residents who are eager to promote family medicine and liaise with our Active membership.

The future of Family Medicine is bright for Louisiana! Funding to the LAFP Foundation will make it possible to send our delegates to the AAFP National Conference in Kansas City in July and the LAFP Board of Directors meeting and General Assembly in August.

Ms. Mohr is a third-year medical student at Tulane University in New Orleans. She is from a small town in eastern Kentucky, located a bit outside of Lexington and at the foothills of Appalachia. During undergrad, Ms. Mohr focused her studies on developmental and lifespan psychology, and it’s her hope to use this framework as a lens in which to view her future patients as whole and unique individuals in her practice. My desire has always been to practice in Family Medicine, specifically in the area of Women's Health. During her down time, Ms. Mohr made it her goal to visit and rank every coffee shop in New Orleans city limits.

The LAFP values our resident and student members. We are one of the few professional membership organizations that actively recruits and involves our resident and student members to leadership roles.  This represents the future of Family Medicine and the LAFP.  For more information on how to become involved with the Academy, visit www.lafp.org or contact Lee Ann Albert for more details.
