The LAFP Foundation is excited to announce that our newest Partner in Family Medicine for 2023 is the Baton Rouge General!

Opened more than 120 years ago as the area’s first hospital, Baton Rouge General (BRG) remains the only locally-led and independently operated health system in the community. BRG has over 600 licensed beds between three hospital locations, 4,000 team members, 36 clinic locations, and 1,400 providers on medical staff.

Nationally ranked for both quality and patient experience, BRG is the only ‘A’ rated and 4-star rated hospital in our region, and is a Mayo Clinic Care Network member. An accredited teaching hospital since 1991, BRG is affiliated with several medical school programs, and offers other medical education programs, including a School of Nursing, School of Radiologic Technology, Family Medicine Residency Program, Internal Medicine Residency Program, and Sports Medicine Fellowship Program.

Through our partnership the LAFP Foundation and the Baton Rouge General plan to offer exciting programming for our medical students and residents to experience everything Family Medicine as a specialty can offer.
