The LAFP's Political Action Committee has helped put Family Medicine on the "political" map. Contributions from our members have kept family medicine issues firmly in the driver's seat. LaFamPac is part of a deliberate strategy to drive the LAFP engine and take family medicine where it needs to go. There's a lot of traffic out there, but you can make sure we have the fuel to stay on the road.

If you have not contributed to LaFamPac, please do so. Your contribution will help to support legislators who are informed and committed to family medicine\'s business and practice management issues. And the results? Family medicine interests are much more likely to receive greater attention among the many competing interests and constant stream of proposals put forward for consideration.

For those of you who don't have time in your busy schedule to follow medical politics in Louisiana, the PAC has supported and has been beneficial in helping Louisiana physicians.

Your LaFamPac Dollars at Work
  • Prohibit further expansion of other providers and disciplines into primary care\'s scope of practice
  • Protect Medicaid reimbursement from larger cuts
  • Thwart regulations that add to administrative overload and impede patient access to quality care
Keep in mind that with the 2023 session will begin soon and issues may arise where contributions will need to be made. Louisiana's PAC is an investment in the future of your profession. Family physicians need the support of legislators that are focused on solving issues that impact your practices and the health care of the patients that you serve. LaFamPac allows the opportunity for the LAFP to have its voice and political goals heard and make contributions to candidates that support issues important to family physicians and your patients.

A donation of $50 (or more) from every member will give the LAFP PAC a voice in Baton Rouge that will be difficult to ignore.  Make your voice strong by supporting LaFamPac and make your contribution today!
