The LAFP in partnership with AAFP and the Opioid Response Network (ORN) is proud to host a educational training for family physicians on identifying opioid and substance abuse disorders in their daily practice.
- Understand the prevalence of addiction disorder
- Discuss the role of the family physician in screening for addiction in daily practice
- Understand the referral options for patients
- Review different treatment options for patients
The ORN as created through a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) grant awarded to the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP) in collaboration with the Addiction Technology Transfer Center Network, at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, Columbia University Division on Substance Use Disorders. The ORN responds to local needs by providing free educational resources and training to states, communities and individuals in the prevention, treatment and recovery of opioid use disorders and stimulant use.
