FIRST PLACE
Title: “Food Fight: Assessing Barriers to Food Insecurity Resources”

Program: Lafayette Family Medicine Residency Program
Dr. Claudius Jean Baptiste is a second-year resident at Louisiana State University (LSU) Family Medicine Residency in Lafayette. Dr Jean Baptiste earned a B.S in Biology at Florida Atlantic University then went back to the Caribbean where he is originally from to attend Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM).
SECOND PLACE
Title: “Effectiveness of Emphasizing Fluoride Supplementation in Children”
Author: Kristy Chin, DO
Program: Lafayette Family Medicine Residency Program
Dr. Kristy Chin is a second-year resident at Louisiana State University (LSU) Family Medicine Residency in Lafayette. Dr. Chin earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of New Orleans and then received her osteopathic medical degree in 2022 at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Auburn, AL.
THIRD PLACE
Title: “Intussusception: Atypical Presentation with Lethargy and Vomiting as Insidious Symptoms”
Author: Nora Fuller, MD
Program: Bogalusa Family Medicine Residency Program
Dr. Nora Fuller is a second-year resident at the Rural Family Medicine Residency Program Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa. She graduated from LSUHSC School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2023. She received her BA in biology and international public health in 2006.
HONORABLE MENTION
Title: “PPIs: A Balanced Approach to Prescribing and Deprescribing”
Author: Artesia Simon, DO
Program: Lafayette Family Medicine Residency Program
Dr. Artesia Simon is currently a first-year Family Medicine Resident in the LSU Family Medicine Residency Program in Lafayette, Louisiana. She earned her medical degree from New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine after obtaining a bachelor's degree in biology from Louisiana State University- Shreveport.
