The Thomas W. Johnson Award for Career Contributions to Family Medicine Education, which was first presented in 1973, is presented annually to an AAFP member who has made outstanding contributions to education for family medicine in undergraduate, graduate and continuing education spheres. The Commission on Education will review all applications and make a recipient recommendation to the AAFP Board of Directors. This award, as in previous years, will be presented at the 2024 Congress of Delegates, which will take place September 24-28 in Phoenix, Ariz.
Nominations are accepted from AAFP constituent chapters, members, academic institutions or self. Regardless of nomination origin, the nominee must complete the application.
Eligibility criteria, requirements, a list of past recipients and a link to the application can be found online.
