The LAFP in partnership with Ochsner Health Foundation hosted 2 Grand Rounds the week of June 26. The Greater New Orleans Area Grand Rounds was held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Dab’s Bistro in Metairie. It was a packed house! We were so excited to welcome our interns from the Bogalusa, East Jefferson and Kenner programs and say “Best Wishes” to our graduates!

We were honored to recognize 2 LAFP members with membership awards: Patricia Estrada, MD and Michael Marcello, MD. Dr. Estrada was presented her 35 years of membership pin, and Dr. Marcello received his 45-year pin. The LAFP thanks Dr. Estrada and Dr. Marcello for their continued membership through the years!

Joseph Romito, MD, PGY-2, Kenner FMRP, hosted the educational program, “Let’s Talk About Strep: A Broad Discussion of Group A Streptococcus Infections”.

On Thursday, July 29, 2023, we traveled west to Lake Charles for the Southwest Louisiana Grand Rounds for another packed house. Our group enjoyed a delicious meal at 1910 and an educational program, “Between a Bloody Rock and a Hard Place”, led by Danette Null, MD, Program Director, Lake Charles, FMRP and Benji Callum, MD. Dr. Null introduced the interns.
