Changes to Family Medicine Leads Scholarship Program

The AAFP Foundation Family Medicine Leads program provides scholarships to assist students and residents with out-of-pocket expenses related to attending FUTURE (formerly National Conference).

There are adjustments to the Family Medicine Leads Scholarship application process for 2025:

• There will be a cap of 700 Family Medicine Leads Scholarship applications accepted.
• Applications will open mid-February, not January as in previous years. The AAFP will send communications and update its website to reflect this change. Applications will still close May 1, and recipients will be notified in early June. A list of scholarship recipients will not be provided to chapters before applicants are notified.
• The application will now require each applicant to submit a verification letter from their institution to validate their graduation date/year in training. Applicants must obtain the signed verification before submitting their application. Details of what the letter must include will be available on the application website.
