The American Academy of Family Physicians highly values the contributions made by family medicine residents and medical students and recognizes the importance of training future leaders in medicine. The AAFP is one of the few specialty organizations to actively enlist resident and student members in leadership roles.
Leadership roles with the AAFP provide you with opportunities to network, learn new skills, and strengthen your CV. The following positions are accepting applications:
- Student and resident members of the American Family Physician Editorial Board
- Student and resident members of the FamMedPac Board of Directors
- Student and resident members of AAFP commissions
- Student liaison to the Latino Medical Student Association
- Student liaison to the Student National Medical Association
- Family Medicine Interest Group Regional Coordinator (five student positions).
