As a member of the LAFP, you are encouraged to, attend and participate in the LAFP's 2024 General Assembly, which will convene on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 1:00 pm. The General Assembly will be held in conjunction with LAFP's 77th Annual Assembly and Exhibition at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, FL. General Assembly Schedule of Activities
Information about the 2024 General Assembly schedule.
The Bylaws Task Force has developed a report with amendments being proposed to the assembly. This report will be voted on during the General Assembly Meeting. An affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of the members present and voting shall constitute adoption. Amendments shall take effect immediately upon adoption unless otherwise specified.
2024 Resolutions
As of June 25, 2024, the following resolutions have been filed:
- Resolution 1: ABFM Misinformation Disinformation Policies
- Resolution 2: Independence from Government Authority
- Resolution 3: Opposition to Monetary Incentives for Therapeutics
- Resolution 4: International Mandates in Medical Practice
LAFP members may present resolutions for debate which set the direction for the Academy in the coming year. Any LAFP member can submit a resolution for vote. Resolutions cannot be submitted from the floor except by an affirmative vote of two-thirds of the members of the General Assembly present and voting. Any resolution submitted from the floor and accepted for presentation must be submitted in writing to the Speaker of the General Assembly, Dr. Derek Anderson.
