RememberCME thumbnail 2024 01Active members are required to report at least 150 approved CME credits every 3 calendar years. This is called the “re-election cycle”. It always ends on December 31. To be eligible for re-election, members must earn the credits within that 3-year period.

Your CME transcript is the official documentation for reporting your hours of continuing medical education for re-election. The easiest way to update your CME transcript is by logging into your AAFP account and choose “Update CME Transcript”.

You may also report CME via:

  • The AAFP mobile app
  • By calling the AAFP Member Resource Center at 800.274.2237
  • By calling the LAFP office at 225.923.3313
  • Faxing the certificate of attendance to the AAFP @ 913.906.6075

Reminders:

  • You can claim 60 Prescribed credits for teaching students
  • You can claim 25 Elective credits for professional enrichment
  • You can claim 100 Prescribed credits for scholarly activities
  • ACLS, ATLS. ALSO, NALS, PALS count as Prescribed credit
