The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) just launched the Family Medicine Career Benchmark Dashboard, which will assist AAFP members in navigating career transitions. AAFP members can use the Family Medicine Career Benchmark Dashboard as a tool to see how their income, benefits, career satisfaction, and more compare with that of their peers in similar roles and backgrounds. The dashboard also provides insights to assist family medicine residents as they compare career options, and established physicians as they consider career transitions.

Family physicians can use the data as a realistic benchmark to develop a fair salary range expectation; evaluate an employer’s offer or make a counteroffer based on value; and demonstrate credibility, marketability, and an awareness of industry standards and trends.

While a high-level view of a few key statistics from the dashboard will be publicly available, use of the dashboard’s dynamic drill-down capabilities are exclusively available to AAFP members as a FREE benefit of membership.
