The FMIG at LSU Health New Orleans hosted their first meeting of the Fall semester. Over 30 students attended! The topic for this meeting was “Why Family Medicine is Awesome”. The LAFP worked with the LAFP officers to identify 4 members to participate in a panel discussion and answer questions from the students.
Thank you to Dr. Nichole Guillory - Ochsner, Dr. Lindsay Liles – Assistant Professor, Kenner FMRP, Dr. Joseph Romito, PGY-3 -Kenner FMRP and Dr. Hayley Knight, PGY-2 – Bogalusa FMRP, for participating as the panelists. Lee Ann Albert, LAFP Staff Member, was in attendance to talk about the importance of LAFP/AAFP membership. Dr. Russo also welcomed the students and talked about how important family physicians are to primary care.
The students enjoyed a lunch provided by the LAFP Foundation. Our students are key to the future of family medicine in Louisiana. Consider making a donation to the LAFP Foundation.
