St. Tammany/Ochsner Family Medicine Residency Program is a newly accredited family medicine residency program on the Northshore. The 8-8-8 program will have six core Family Medicine faculty members and a full complement of specialist faculty. Located 45 minutes outside of New Orleans in Covington, LA, inpatient services will occur at St. Tammany Health System Hospital while the ambulatory Family Medicine experience will take place in a brand new, purpose-built Family Medicine Clinic that is slated for completion in March 2024! This 18000 square foot facility will house 18 exam rooms, 2 procedure rooms, a physical therapy gym, a point of care lab as well as a patient lab-draw station, and X-ray. There is also ample classroom and meeting space, dedicated individual resident workspace, on-site faculty offices, and a resident lounge where lunch will be provided. The clinic will serve as the “home base” of the residency, providing an up-to-date space for patient care and classroom learning as well as space and opportunity for collegiality and down-time with your faculty and peers. Conveniently located in Covington, LA, our program offers a prime location for residency training with a low cost of living, competitive public education, a low crime rate, and myriad opportunities for dining, art, culture and the outdoor activities Louisiana is known for.
We are currently accepting applications for student rotations, will begin accepting residency applications in September and expect to welcome our first class of residents in July 2024!
