70.01         Public Health - Gun Violence

The LAFP advocate and inform Louisiana state and federal legislators of the AAFP policy on prevention of gun violence and encourage them to promote legislation consistent with this policy.

IMMUNIZATIONS (71)

71.01         Immunizations – Access

The Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians (LAFP) endorses the concept that all children and adults, regardless of economic and insurance status, should have access to all immunizations recommended by the AAFP, in collaboration with the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), and current clinical vaccination guidelines.

71.02         Immunizations – Annual Vaccinations

The LAFP recommends that patients receive all immunizations recommended by the AAFP from their usual source of primary care. When recommended vaccines are provided outside of a patient's usual and continuous source of primary care, all pertinent vaccine related information should be submitted directly into the patient’s electronic health record and/or an immunization registry, so the patient’s primary care physician receives information in a timely manner to assure continuity of the patient’s medical record.
