Benefits of Tar Wars at Your School
The Tar Wars presentation is designed for 4th and 5th grade students to teach them how to make healthy anti-tobacco choices. The presentation is fun and encourages class participation. The Tar Wars program is a fun and fully developed anti-tobacco program that generates enthusiasm among the students. The program is designed for the presentations to allow the anti-tobacco message to be reiterated throughout the school year. The best part of the Tar Wars program is that the presentation is FREE.

The Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians Foundation administers the Louisiana Tar Wars Program. The LAFP Foundation works closely with Area Health Education Centers, Medical Residency Programs and Educator Associations to promote and schedule presentations.
Tar Wars is a tobacco-free education program for fourth and fifth-grade students. The program is designed to teach kids about the short-term, image-based consequences of tobacco use, the cost associated with using tobacco products and the advertising techniques used by the tobacco industry to market their products to youth.
