The 2025 Research Poster Competition was held in conjunction with the 78^th Annual Assembly and Exhibition. This year our student and resident members submitted 12 posters for the statewide contest! Our judges were overwhelmed with the quality and relevance to the practice of Family Medicine.  The posters were displayed in the Exhibit Hall during the Annual Assembly. 

The final judging and presentation of the winners were announced on Friday during the Awards and Installation Ceremony.  A cash award was presented to the 1^st place resident and student, 2^nd place (there was a tie) and 3^rd place winners:

• First Place – Resident – “Un Momento: Can we talk?” - David Mas, MD, LSU Family Medicine Residency Program, Lafayette
• First Place – Student – “Preliminary Results of a Plan-Do-Study-Act Model for Addressing Food Insecurity Screening Among Providers and Promoting Patient-Centered Interventions” - Megan Gremillion, LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine
• Second Place – “Back to the Basics: Refractory DKA Reveals Graves Disease in a Patient with Type 2 Diabetes and HIV” - Kai Ackley, MD, LSU Family Medicine Residency Program, Lake Charles
• Second Place – “Enhancing Ordering Efficiency and Improving Resident Knowledge Ordering Requirements in the Family Health Center: A QI project for BRG Family Health Center” - Katie Fitzgerald, MD, Baton Rouge General Family Medicine Residency Program
• Third Place – “Goals of Care Conversations in Clinic – Gauging Patient Motivation” - Lilian Pham, MD, LSU Family Medicine Residency Program, Kenner
