The LAFP is excited to recognize Dr. DeMarcus Drumgo as our July Member of the Month. Dr. Drumgo is a first-generation physician who grew up on the south side of Monroe in a close-knit family.
We asked Dr. Drumgo how he chose to become a family physician. He stated, “I didn’t fully know the difference between doctor specialties. While growing up, I knew I wanted to be a doctor who could see the baby all the way up to ‘Maw-Maw and Pawpaw’. I wanted to be the doctor of the community that could serve all ages, be on the sidelines of the games, as well as visiting residents nursing homes. While in medical school, I learned the only doctor who truly has that ability is a family medicine doctor.”
