The AAFP is seeking chapter staff and others to participate in its Family Medicine Champions program, which trains people to be ambassadors for family medicine by connecting with students, and those who support them, to help aspiring doctors understand what it really means to be a family physician.
This free certificate program trains ambassadors of the specialty to educate students about the role family physicians play in primary care, preventive health, and to advance health equity.
Chapters are strongly encouraged to participate and can help support the program by spreading the word, especially within the following cohorts:
- Family Medicine Interest Group or ACOFP leaders (faculty, students, and staff)
- Residency program directors and coordinators
- Other family physicians
- Pre-health advisors (medical school, college, and high school faculty and career advisors)
More program details and registration information are available on the AAFP website. Register by Aug. 15 to be part of the next class of Family Medicine Champions!
