Applications due August 31, 2025
The AAFP Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2026 Family Medicine Cares International (FMCI) delegation trip to the Dominican Republic. The week-long volunteer opportunity, scheduled Feb. 7-14, 2026, includes three components: medical education, patient care and a children’s activity.
FMCI is seeking family physicians with expertise in family medicine and community health, as well as non-medical volunteers with a passion for improving the lives of those in need. Applications for the delegation trip must be received by August 31, 2025.

Scholarship opportunity available for 2nd- and 3rd-year residents
Scholarships available for 2nd- and 3rd-year residents cover travel to the Dominican Republic, including housing and food, and travel expenses to give a presentation on the experience at AAFP FUTURE or other appropriate setting. Applications for the scholarship must be received by August 31, 2025.
