The LAFP Foundation, in partnership with Ochsner, sponsored the Pickleball Social for the LSU Health Shreveport FMIG. Over 40 medical students, family medicine residents and faculty enjoyed an evening of pickleball at the LASH Family YMCA in Shreveport.
Dr. Amar Hussan, Rural Family Medicine Residency Program-Vivian and FMIG Faculty Advisor, talked to the group about common injuries family physicians can see in patients who play the sport. LAFP staff member, Lee Ann Albert, provided an overview of the LAFP and encouraged students to join the Academy. The group enjoyed a Mexican buffet.
