The American Academy of Family Physicians recently shared a resource, The Good Health Project, for our members who are in need of legal assistance with growing scrutiny on physician care.

According to its website, “The Good Health Project, founded in late 2024, is gearing up to provide free or at-cost legal representation to healthcare professionals and institutions seeking to provide transgender healthcare in a rapidly changing legal environment and rising atmosphere of government lawlessness.

“Our focus is on advising healthcare providers on how to provide the maximum extent of services allowable by law, avoid over-compliance with the government’s attempts to restrict healthcare through threats and rhetoric, and avoid litigation. We also provide policy advocacy advice, know-your-rights education, and other services our clients need to continue their provision of care.

“The Good Health Project works closely with other transgender, LGBTQ, civil rights, health, and legal organizations, and the nation’s leading pro bono practices; and is part of the larger movement to preserve and defend civil rights, democracy, and the rule of law.”
