American Academy of Family Physicians

The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) has worked with the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) to change how the ABFM displays AAFP Elective credits for our members.

Previously, all AAFP Elective credits were logged as Division 2 credits by the ABFM. However, if the member reported the CME to the ABFM directly the CME was accepted as Division 1 credit. After discussions with the ABFM, the AAFP was able to make an update to its API so that the ABFM now applies AAFP Elective credits as Division 1 credits if they were approved by the American Medical Association or the American Osteopathic Association.
