Millage Renewal:
The school district is required to seek public approval to renew
current millages. This renewal will allow the school system to
maintain the level of funding that supports a high quality school
system. The election will be held in April 2017.
Transportation:
School buses are the safest way for students to get to and from
school. With this in mind, the transportation training facility will
provide a venue for ongoing professional development and best
practices for school bus drivers. The ability to service district school
buses internally will allow for timely repairs and cost savings.
Child Nutrition:
The child nutrition program is committed to providing healthy,
nutritious and appetizing meals. Through student focus groups
and a repurposed test kitchen at E.J. Landry Alternative Center, the
district will be able to better serve and improve the quality of meals
offered to students.
Technology:
All middle school students have access to Chrome Books during
core classroom instruction. Each math, English Language Arts,
science and social studies classroom has been equipped with a
ChromeBook cart. This technology-rich environment will enhance
student learning through collaboration, engagement, research
and assessment. This will help to prepare students for online state
assessments.
