The Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians cordially invites you to attend a CME presentation titled\, “Strengthening W ell-Child Visits Through Developmental Screening\, Referral Pathways and C are Coordination in Family Medicine.” \; \;This presentat ion will provide \;practical\, evidence-based strategies to enhance th e quality and impact of well-child visits. Participants will review recomm ended screening guidelines across development and learn how standardized w orkflows\, referral pathways\, and care coordination strategies can be eas ily integrated into routine practice using a team-based approach. Emphasis is placed on family-centered communication\, closed-loop referrals\, and effective use of Louisiana-specific community and state resources to stren gthen pediatric well-care visits in family medicine settings.

Apply clinic w orkflows\, family-centered communication strategies\, and care coordinatio n tools to integrate screening results into efficient follow-up and referr al process.

Julie Emory serves as the Pediatric Medical H ome Coordinator for the Louisiana Bureau of Family Health. Her work focuse s on strengthening the ability of healthcare providers to deliver comprehe nsive medical home services\, ensuring positive outcomes for children with and without special healthcare needs. Recently\, she completed a two-year project that successfully integrated caregiver depression screenings into pediatric well-child visits across multiple clinics throughout the state.

Before this role\, Julie led the place-based community initiative s under the Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems (ECCS) grant. Under her leadership\, the parish achieved significant advancements in access to dev elopmental screenings\, expanded parent education\, and built a cross-sect or coalition dedicated to improving child and family outcomes. She also se rved as the Lead Agency Director for three parishes\, contributing to the transformation of the childcare industry in Louisiana.

Julie is a passionate advocate for community involvement and has actively participate d on various committees and boards\, including serving as the Executive Di rector of the Big Whit 77 Foundation\, a board member of the Wellspring Al liance Against Domestic Violence\, Sterlington Little League\, and the Chi ldren’s Museum of Northeast Louisiana. Additionally\, she is a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner and offers certification clas ses for families interested in foster care.

She holds a Master’s d egree in Family and Child Development and a Bachelor’s degree in Early Chi ldhood Education with a concentration in Child Life\, both from Louisiana Tech University. Additionally\, she earned a Graduate Certificate in Infan t-Toddler Mental Health from Portland State University.

The AAFP has reviewed 2026 Monthly Webinar/Grand Rounds Series and deemed it acceptable for AAFP credit. Term s of approval is from 1/20/2026 to 12/23/2026. Physicians should claim onl y the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the ac tivity.
